Your teens are holding a car wash at the high school Saturday. The grandparents volunteered to take the younger children to a movie Sunday afternoon. Your tweens take tap on Wednesday evening. It’s your time. Take it.

Each week, we’ll tell you about one great idea to give you a much deserved break, and make your life a little easier, maybe a whole lot easier.

This week, check out Leesburg’s Old and Historic District, lined with boutiques, shops, taverns, restaurants and classic Americana. You can hit outdoor concerts and open-air festivals if you’re interested in mingling.

As for dining, you’ll find Thai, Indian, American, Italian, New Mexican, Cajun and Mexican food.

While you’re there, check out Ball’s Bluff Battlefield, Loudoun Museum, Oatlands Historic House and Gardens, Red Rocks Overlook, Thomas Balch Library and Morven Park.

On the first Friday of each month downtown flares with music, art and shopping. If you can get a babysitter, you won’t want to miss this.
