Public health advocates are still suing federal agencies for records on whether proper asbestos inspections and safeguards were followed, raising broader questions about transparency and worker safety around the project.
   

2. 2026 Maryland state legislature preview (streetcarsuburbs.news) — Hyattsville residents will soon see their state lawmakers back in Annapolis, tackling issues like flooding, energy costs, and school funding when the General Assembly convenes Jan. 14. Delegates and senators outline priorities on climate resilience, utility affordability, and the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future, and the publisher is still inviting responses from legislators who represent Hyattsville through Jan. 14.

Volunteers now rely more on home deliveries and appointments after seeing steep drops in turnout at usual gathering spots.
