An Aberdeen man has been sentenced for firing 10 rounds from his Glock 43X. No injuries were reported in the October 2023 incident.

ABERDEEN, MD — A 27-year-old Aberdeen man has been sentenced to prison after being convicted by a jury of firing 10 rounds from a gun in the 100 block of New County Road in Aberdeen.

The incident happened Oct. 18, 2023. No witnesses or victims came forward and the case went cold. In the summer of 2024, a detective received a ballistics lead that identified a possible suspect as Alexander Maszkiewicz. The detective was able to locate the Glock 43X used in the shooting and charge Maszkiewicz in relation to the shooting.

During his three-day trial, the jury deliberated for 90 minutes and returned a guilty verdict on all charges, including illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, handgun on a person and reckless endangerment.
