Art Exhibit On Display At Library Through July 15 Highlights Students' Work

Now through July 15, "Expressing Your Superpower Through the Arts" student art exhibit will be on display at the Prince George's library.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — The student art exhibit “Expressing Your Superpower Through the Arts” will be on display now through July 15 at the Hyattsville Library branch. Featuring the work of students in seventh through 11th grades, the pieces reflect self-power inspired by a role model or through nature.

“PGCMLS is thrilled to host The Society student art exhibit in our brand new Hyattsville Branch Library, which is the first PGCMLS branch to have a dedicated art room. The library celebrates the creative endeavors of our community youth and encourages expression through visual media in this incredible display. This collaboration with The Society also serves to strengthen the PGCMLS commitment to championing creatives,” Rachel Zukowski, program services manager at PGCMLS, said.

The exhibit, hosted by the Prince George's County Memorial Library System and the Harbor City Maryland Chapter of The Society, reflects The Society's ongoing A..R.T.S. Mentoring Program, where they work with seventh through 11th graders providing arts programming in four creative areas: literary, performing, visual and instrumental/vocal arts. The art pieces were judged by three creative arts subject matter experts using a standard rubric.
