KENSINGTON, MD — A Hagerstown man was charged in a hate biased incident for allegedly making threatening phone calls to a public housing agency in Kensington. Jerome Want, 69, of Langley Drive is accused of calling the Montgomery County Housing Opportunities Commission and harassing a person over the phone because of the person’s race.

An employee told police an unknown person — identified by police as Want — called the office multiple times between Jan. 12-18. Want allegedly made sexual remarks and used racial epithets on the phone, police said.
