Arbor Day Foundation and Howard Hughes Corporation Offer Free Trees
Community Canopy program uses trees to lower energy costs, filter air and water, reduce storm water and green our neighborhoods

Through a partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation's Community Canopy program, The Howard Hughes Corporation is giving away 300 trees to help residents lower energy costs, filter air and water, reduce storm water and green our neighborhoods. This is an offer exclusively for Howard County residents.
Beginning today, you can reserve up to two (2) free trees at www.arborday.org/howardhughes. The types of trees offered include Eastern Redbud, Northern Red Oak, Red Maple, River Birch, Sugar Maple and Sweetbay Magnolia.
On the Abor Day site, you can use the online tool to determine the location in your yard to plant your new free tree(s) for maximum savings on your energy bill. In exchange for the free tree(s), you will be asked to plant them in the location provided by the online tool and to provide ongoing care.
