Breakfast with Santa Set for Dec. 2 and 9 at Seasons 52 at The Mall

Fundraisers benefit Grassroots crisis intervention center and shelter for individuals and families who are homeless

Santa will visit with youngsters, their parents and grandparents at “Breakfast with Santa” on Dec. 2 and 9, 8-9:30 a.m., at Seasons 52 restaurant at The Mall in Columbia, 10300 Little Patuxent Parkway. Santa will talk with youngsters and their families at their tables. Miss Julie, the Mall’s Family Fun Day entertainer, will be the hostess of the breakfast.

Breakfast prepared by Seasons 52 will include scrambled eggs, bacon, French toast sticks, fruit, juice, milk and coffee. Student volunteers from Howard County high schools will serve as greeters and wait staff.

Tickets are $15 per guest, children 6 months and younger are free. “Breakfast with Santa” benefits Grassroots, Howard County’s 24-hour crisis intervention center and emergency shelter. There is limited seating. Register at http://grassrootscrisis.org/breakfastwithsanta .

During the last year, Grassroots served 586 people in its shelter programs and 1,159 individuals at the Grassroots Day Resource Center, handled 72,949 calls to its crisis line, and helped 3,165 individuals via face-to-face contacts. The Mobile Crisis Team made 1,278 community responses, and 98 clients sought substance use treatment treatment.

Grassroots recently expanded its crisis intervention, mental health, substance use disorder, housing support and suicide prevention services and moved them toa new location at 8990 Old Annapolis Road, Suite A, in Columbia.
