Free Trees Offered Howard County Residents by The Howard Hughes Corp.
In partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, Downtown Columbia's master developer is giving away 250 trees to green our neighborhoods

Through a partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation’s Community Canopy program, The Howard Hughes Corporation is giving away 250 trees to help residents lower energy costs, filter air and water, reduce storm water and green our neighborhoods. This is an offer exclusively for Howard County residents. Beginning November 1, residents can reserve up to two (2) free trees at www.arborday.org/howardhughes.
On this site, you can use the online tool to determine the ideal location in your yard to plant your new free tree(s) for maximum savings on your energy bill. In exchange for the free tree(s), you will be asked to plant them in the location identified in the online tool and to provide ongoing tree care. Your two- to four-foot, one-gallon potted tree(s) will be shipped directly to your house, ready for planting at no charge, courtesy of The Howard Hughes Corporation.
