Laurel Main Street Festival Still On After Propane Tank Explosion
One person was injured in the explosion, which prompted the cancellation of the Main Street Festival parade.

LAUREL, MD — One person was injured Saturday morning when a propane tank exploded in Laurel, prompting officials to cancel the city's Main Street Festival parade.
The explosion happened near the intersection of 4th and Main streets as a vendor set up for the parade, Laurel city officials said in a statement shared on social media.
While the explosion was contained, officials said a man was hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Baltimore Gas and Electric crews were called to assess the area and ensure public safety, officials said.
In a later update, officials said the festival would open at 11 a.m. Foot traffic is being rerouted to ensure safety.
