Laurel Woman Killed In Car Crash: Police

A Laurel resident was killed in a car crash after her vehicle struck an SUV and a tree on Montpelier Drive, police said.

LAUREL, MD — A Laurel resident was killed in a car crash on Montpelier Drive Friday evening, police said. Police identified the victim on Monday as Sarah Elizabeth Hensley, 39, of Oxwell Lane.

Police were called to the 9300 block of Montpelier Dr. for the report of a collision involving two SUVs at about 5:45 p.m. Friday. Preliminary investigation reveals Hensley was driving westbound on Montpelier Drive when her SUV crossed the centerline of the roadway and struck a second SUV.

Hensley's vehicle ultimately struck a tree, police said. The driver of the second SUV was not injured.

Arriving officers located Hensley suffering from critical injuries. She was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later, police said.
