Residences at Vantage Point Hosts Artist Vanita Leatherwood April 30
Free program at retirement community is last in a series on the creative process featuring self-expression through music, poetry and art

Residences at Vantage Point is hosting the last event in its Arts & Culture Collective Spring series focusing on “The Creative Process” with teaching artist Vanita Leatherwood on Tuesday, April 30, from 7-8 p.m., in the Vantage Point auditorium. The event is free. Registration is required.
The Arts & Culture Collective was established by the Residences at Vantage Point in response to community members’ interest in hosting public activities that engage and educate as well as entertain. This Spring, a musician, a poet and a teaching artist are discussing the process by which they develop and execute their creative output.
The final presentation in the series will showcase Vanita Leatherwood. Leatherwood is a teaching artist, award-winning poet and social change educator with over 30 years of experience in facilitating expressive-arts workshops that awaken creativity, foster personal discovery and build community. She is the owner of The YES Within and the Director of Community Engagement at HopeWorks where she facilitates poetry therapy sessions for survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence.
