Residences at Vantage Point Presents Popular HCC Literature Teacher

George Clack will read from his recently completed memoir and share tips on preserving memories and writing your life stories for posterity

Residences at Vantage Point Arts & Culture Collective will continue its recent focus on memoir and life stories in its Fall 2023 series. The next program features popular Howard Community College teacher George Clack, who has recently completed his own memoir and will be offering tips on writing life stories on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 7-8 p.m., in the retirement community’s auditorium.

Clack teaches literature courses at HCC and for the Johns Hopkins/Osher Program. He is the editor of a weekly email newsletter, “immigration News,” and a board member of the Columbia-based literary magazine, Little Patuxent Review.

Tuesday, Oct. 10, 7-8 p.m.: “A Presentation on Happiness” includes professor and poet Tara Hart’s sharing timeless lessons and contemporary research about what makes us happy. Hart is Professor of English, Arts & Humanities at Howard Community College and co-chair of HoCoPoLitSo.

Tuesday, Oct. 24, 7-8 p.m.: “An Art Talk and Reminiscence” by retired Army Colonel Al Biegel concludes the series. Biegel, a Holocaust survivor and painter for the past 60 years, will discuss how art impacted a soldier’s life.
