3 People Displaced In Montgomery Village Fire
Three people were displaced after an apartment fire broke out in Montgomery Village, officials said.
MONTGOMERY VILLAGE, MD — Three people were displaced after an apartment fire in Montgomery Village Wednesday, officials said.
The fire broke out at a three-story apartment building at 9926 Walker House Rd. About 50 firefighters responded to the scene and assisted some occupants out of the building, spokesperson Pete Piringer said.
Two adults and one child were displaced and Red Cross was on the scene assisting. A family's cat is also missing, Piringer told Patch.

Arriving firefighters saw heavy smoke coming from the top floor of the building. The fire occurred in a kitchen in an apartment on the top floor and was contained to that unit because of a closed door, Piringer said.
