Faerie Faire Comes to Baltimore

Event will be held on May 14.

Baltimore Faire Faire is a Celebration of Imagination and Wonder in an Urban Setting

The Baltimore Faerie Faire is a day long festival that will happen on the grounds of the Church of the Guardian Angel on May 14, 2016 from 11am -7pm with a faerie Masquerade Ball the night before at 8pm. Address: 2629 Huntingdon Avenue Baltimore, MD 21211

So often in the city we lose touch with the natural world around us. Our lives are too busy to remember the delight of a faire tale well told, or stop to notice the beauty of a flower. For this day, we strive to find the balance between the concrete and the dirt, the practical and the fantastic. Feel free to come in costume, or buy one there!

There will be entertainers, including musicians, strolling storytellers, an embassy from the land of Goblins (you won’t want to miss them!), dancers, and mermaids. Art and craft vendors can sell you wings, jewelry, wands, flower crowns, natural soaps and more. You can can get your face painted or visit the court of the Faerie Queene. The Faire is open from 11am-7pm. Admission is $15, or $5 for kids 3-14. Little bitty kids come in for free. There is even a family price cap that is available on the website: www.BaltimoreFaerieFaire.com

On Friday the 13th, the night before the Faire, there will be a Faire Masquerade Ball that runs from 8-11pm and features 3 bands: The Katydids, Appalachian Dance music; Brinjal, Baltimore’s bellydance band, and Big Band Theory of Baltimore, a 24 piece band! In between, Faerie Ring Theater will tell stories, and Flow Artist Soolah Hoops will… flow. The Ball is aimed at the grown-ups, and tickets to that are $15 in advance, or $20 at the door. Baltimore Faerie Faire hopes to create a welcoming space for young and old, dreamers and doers, artists and patrons of the arts. They hope you will join them!
