Funeral Service Planned for Cyclist Thomas Palermo, 41
The Anneslie man was a father of two, avid cyclist, bike builder.

Thomas Palermo of Anneslie died Saturday, Dec. 27. He was 41 years old.
Palermo was a father of two young children who worked as a senior software engineer for Johns Hopkins Hospital and had a one-man cycling business on the side.
He was known in Baltimore’s cycling community as a custom bike builder. His designs were “creative but also very practical,” one cyclist told The Baltimore Sun, noting she had ridden her Palermo bike on three continents.

Palermo was struck by a vehicle while on his bicycle on Roland Avenue on a sunny Saturday afternoon. He died from head injuries, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner told ABC News.
He left behind many loved ones, including relatives and his extended family in the cycling community and beyond. Palermo was married to his wife, Rachel, of seven years and was the father of 6-year-old Sadie and 4-year-old Sam, according to The Baltimore Sun.

Service Information
Visitation will be at Ruck Funeral Home, 1050 York Road in Towson, from 4–7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 2.
A memorial mass will honor Thomas Palermo at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 200 Ware Avenue in Towson, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3.
In lieu of flowers, people may send memorial contributions to the Palermo Children’s Educational Trust c/o Michael Molloy at Stifel Nicolaus, One South St., 30th Floor, Baltimore, MD 21202. There is also an online donation site for the Palermo Children’s Educational Trust.
