Mayor's Christmas Parade 2017: Route, Parking
The 45th Mayor's Annual Christmas Parade will take place on Sunday, Dec. 3.

BALTIMORE, MD — The Mayor's Christmas Parade in Baltimore attracted 6,000 people to the Hampden-Medfield area last year, officials say. Crowds are also expected at Sunday's parade, which marks the 45th annual event.
The Mayor's Christmas Parade is always held the first Sunday in December. Businesses and communities in Hampden and Medfield sponsor the festivities, which will feature floats, Miss Yuletide, local TV personalities, a steam calliope, Santa, more than 100 Harley Davidson motorcycles and dozens of marching bands.
The parade begins at 1 p.m. on Falls Road near Coldspring Lane and ends on 37th Street near Chestnut.

Signage will be up restricting parking along the parade route, which is 2.5 miles. It starts at Poly/Western, 4600 Falls Road, and continues on Falls Road, heads east onto 36th Street, then travels north onto Chestnut Avenue and concludes at 37th Street.
The staging area for participants will be at Poly-Western; the public is not permitted to park there. People are encouraged to take the light rail (get off at the Woodberry stop) or other transportation.

"Street parking is available but most likely difficult due to street closures," organizers said on the Mayor's Christmas Parade Facebook page, noting that "no parking" signs had been installed around the area.
