Two Baltimore Schools Closed During Cold Snap Tuesday
Lack of heat is causing some Baltimore City Public Schools to abbreviate the school day.

BALTIMORE, MD — Two schools are closing early in Baltimore City on Tuesday, Jan. 5, due to the extreme cold, officials report.
- Baltimore City College will close at 12:15 p.m. due to lack of heat, according to Baltimore City Public Schools.
- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary Middle School closed at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday because it lacked heat.
There was a code blue alert in Baltimore City, where the health commissioner urged citizens to stay inside while temperatures dipped below freezing.
