4. Wootton Varsity Ice Hockey vs. Walter Johnson

When/Where: Friday, Dec. 9 at 4:40 p.m. at Rockville Ice Arena - 50 Southlawn Court, Rockville, Md.

Why go: See the varsity hockey team take on rival Walter Johnson as a part of the Montgomery Hockey Conference's "Friday Night is Hockey Night" intiative.

When/Where: Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School (4301 East West Highway, Bethesda, MD). Friday and Saturday, Dec. 9 and 10, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 11, at 2 p.m.

Why go: See a Tony Award-winning musical performed by local high-school students. Set in 1958, this satire on American society was inspired by Elvis Presley and his draft notice into the Army in 1957. It is the story of rock star Conrad Birdie, who travels to a small town in Ohio to make his farewell television performance and to kiss his biggest fan before he is drafted. A cast of talented students will sing (accompanied by the B-CC pit orchestra) favorite tunes such as "Kids," "Put on a Happy Face," "The Telephone Hour," "One Last Kiss" and "Spanish Rose."

Price: $15.00 (Adult Reserved), $10 (Child, Student and Senior Reserved) and $10.00 (General Admission All Ages). Additionally, Dec. 9 is "Westland Middle School Night Special," when Westland students pay only $5 for a ticket and a treat and drink from the concessions stand. And, Dec. 10 is "B-CC Student Night," when B-CC students pay only $5 for General Admission tickets.
