Mission to help wounded, ill and injured service members continues with aid from DAV Charitable Service Trust

Founded in 2005 and based in Bethesda MD, Yellow Ribbon Fund has provided assistance to more than 25,000 disabled veterans. Although the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan may have ended, many veterans continue to suffer from their wounds, illness, or trauma resulting from their military service. Donations from individuals, businesses, and foundations such as the DAV Charitable Service Trust have enabled Yellow Ribbon Fund to provide the additional help these veterans need to cope with their lifelong injuries or illnesses.
From one of the past beneficiaries of Yellow Ribbon Fund’s housing program:
“I know that the last couple of years have been especially difficult for many families and ours is no exception. If not for the Yellow Ribbon Fund providing my family a safe place to live while my husband continues to battle his ongoing mental and physical health conditions from his time in service, I genuinely don't know how we would've survived financially or emotionally. We have a special needs child and I have had to leave my job and our support system in another state to caretaker for my husband while also attempting to give my son some stability and the Yellow Ribbon Fund made that possible by providing us a home. Any works or statement I give regarding how much this has meant in our lives falls far short of what it has actually provided us and we are eternally grateful.”
