New Editor Starts at North Potomac Patch

Greg Cohen returns home, assumes role of local editor.

Throughout my senior year at Penn State and subsequent search for employment, the question I was asked most frequently was whether I wanted to return home to Montgomery County for work or if I preferred moving on to a new city for a fresh start.

My answer was always the same: “I will go wherever the best opportunity is, whether that’s near home or some faraway place in Montana.”

Secretly, though, I always wanted to get my footing in the professional world near home, and my job search reflected that, turning what should have been a national investigation into a local effort.

When the opportunity arose with Patch to become the new local editor for North Potomac-Darnestown, it had a “this is the one,” kind of feeling. Applying for the job would lead to great satisfaction or great disappointment.

I cannot express how genuinely excited, thankful and nervous I am to be the new editor.
