16 MD Jurisdictions Under Severe Thunderstorm Watch As Temps Top 100
Amid sizzling heat, the National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for parts of Maryland from Baltimore to DC.
MARYLAND — Amid scorching heat, the National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for parts of Maryland from Baltimore to the DC area until 10 p.m. Tuesday.
The region is also under a heat advisory for the second day in a row. Excessive heat warnings and watches extend from the Mid-Atlantic region to parts of New England. The temperature was 103 degrees at Baltimore/Washington International Airport at 4:20 p.m.
The severe thunderstorm watch includes: Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Calvert, Caroline, Carroll, Cecil, Charles, Frederick, Harford, Howard, Kent, Montgomery, Prince George's, Queen Anne's, and Talbot counties, plus the city of Baltimore.

Tuesday's real-feel heat index could peak at 110 degrees. The heat index may hit 105 to 110 degrees on Wednesday.
The National Weather Service issued another excessive heat warning on Tuesday. The alert lasts from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and calls for "dangerously hot conditions." The warning covers portions of central, northern and southern Maryland.

The National Weather Service also warned of possible "isolated severe thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts" Tuesday afternoon and evening. Wednesday could bring scattered severe thunderstorms and wind damage as well. Thursday also has a chance of thunderstorms.
Thursday's high of 87 will feel like a cold blast after weeks of summer sun. Highs should hover in the upper-80s and low-90s through Monday.
