185 for Heroes Athletes Off to Good Start
A team of runners and cyclists is trekking the full length of the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Trail in support of Wounded Warriors.

A team of runners and cyclists are off to a good start in the annual 185 for Heroes event, which seeks to raise money for wounded service members.Â
The group on Tuesday embarked on Day 3 of the trip down the full length of the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal trail. The team finished 59 miles through the first two days alone.Â
The team includes runners Michael Rychlik and David Brown, with cyclists Jeromiah Platt and Casey Daniels.Â
The group took off on Sunday and is expected to arrive Saturday at the campus of Georgetown University, after having traveled 185 miles.Â
185 for Heroes was founded by Odenton resident Clay Anderson and his sister, Ashley Ackenhausen. Don Snook of Odenton was a runner in the event in 2011.Â
All money raised from 185 for Heroes goes to support Operation Second Chance, which provides opportunities for wounded service members.Â
