185 for Heroes Gearing up For Week-Long Run
The run to support wounded service members will begin next week on the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Trail.
A week-long effort to support wounded service members will begin next week, with the fourth annual 185-mile run along the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal trail.Â
The 185 For Heroes run will go from Sept. 15-21, and the public can still donate in support of Operation Second Chance.Â
The run was founded by Odenton resident Clay Anderson and his sister, Ashley Ackenhausen. Piney Orchard resident Don Snook took part in the run in 2011 with his brother, Dan.
This year's run will include soldiers David Brown and Michael Rychlik.Â
There are several ways to help 185 for Heroes.
- Direct donations are accepted at 185forheroes.org.Â
- Anyone can form "virtual team" to run a collective 185 miles between Sept. 15 and 21.Â
- Attend the finish line ceremony at Copley Field on the campus of Georgetown University on September 21.
- Follow the runners on the 185 for Heroes Facebook page.Â
