Arundel Middle Closing at 11 a.m. Due to Power Outage

Arundel Middle School will close at 11 a.m. Friday due to a nearby power outage. 

The school system said the outage was off school property, but that BGE was forced to cut service to the school in order to address the problem. 

Those students who ride buses home will be dropped off on their normal routes. There will not be afternoon bus service for those students who normally ride buses from the school to magnet or specialty programs.

On its website, BGE reported only a handful of power outages in the area, and said the estimated time of restoration was 12:15 p.m.
