Arundel Middle Inducts 29 into Honor Society

The students are honored at a ceremony in front of parents, school leaders and Arundel Middle graduates.

Arundel Middle School inducted 29 students into its National Junior Honor Society on Wednesday, recognizing them for their well-rounded approach to scholarship.

The students in grades 6 through 8 were honored during a special ceremony in front of parents, school leaders and former students.

"I believe that what should make your parents most proud is not what you have achieved, but what you have done to achieve it," said Zachary Brown, a 7th-grade science teacher and advisor to the NJHS.

The NJHS recognizes students who have shown good scholarship, leadership and character, while also serving others.

"With this great honor comes greater responsibility," said Christian Hodges, a former NJHS member who is finishing his junior year at Arundel High School. "All of you are now role models, and all of your friends will look up to you."
