HANOVER, MD — Arundel Mills mall celebrated its 25th anniversary this month in Hanover, marking a quarter-century of job creation and tax revenue in Anne Arundel County.

The mall, which opened on Nov. 17, 2000, spans over 450 acres and offers more than 240 retailers and 60 dining options. It has 1.8 million square feet of retail and entertainment space, including a 300,000-square-foot casino.

Recent additions to Arundel Mills include clothier Primark and PopMart Robo Shop, a vending machine selling collectable character figurines. Toys"R"Us is making its return with a new flagship store opening soon, and furniture retailer Wayfair is preparing to debut its first Maryland location at the mall.

The mall contributes nearly $1 million per day in tax revenue for Anne Arundel County and the State of Maryland. The mall is the county's second-largest taxpayer and its top retail contributor.

Arundel Mills, owned by mall management company Simon, supports about 10,000 jobs across the district. Many retailers at the property rank among the highest performers in their national portfolios.

Simon+, the center's new loyalty program, will reward members with cash back, points and perks both in-store and online.

"From the beginning, Arundel Mills was envisioned as more than a shopping center – it was a catalyst for regional growth," mall General Manager Gene Condon, who has worked at the center since its opening, said in a Monday press release. "Over the last 25 years, we’ve expanded, reimagined the in-person shopping experience and attracted incredible brands to deliver a timeless, one-of-a-kind destination for shoppers."
