Officers identified the victim as 34-year-old Keion McKinney of Severn.

Authorities said they were called to the 1600 block of Meade Village Circle at 7:19 p.m. That's located in the Meade Village neighborhood.

Police said they found the victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds behind a building.

McKinney was pronounced dead on the scene, officers said.

"Preliminary information indicates the victim exited a townhome and was shot by a male suspect in the rear yard," the Anne Arundel County Police Department said in a press release. "The suspect subsequently fled the scene. The incident was determined to be targeted with no threat to the community."

Brooklyn Park Shooting

A shooting victim was pushed out of a vehicle on June 29 in northern Anne Arundel County, police said.

Officers said the victim, 34-year-old Joshua Ray Holland of Curtis Bay, died at a hospital.

Authorities said the call originally came in around 6:35 p.m. for a crash with injuries in Brooklyn Park at the intersection of Maryland Route 2 North and Orchard Avenue.

Police said they found Holland suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Officers said medics took the victim to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he later died from his injuries.

Witnesses told authorities that a vehicle suddenly stopped at that intersection and a man fell out of the driver's side front door before the vehicle fled, a press release said.

Detectives don't know when the victim was shot or if the shooter was the same person who pushed him from the vehicle.

Police said they found the vehicle nearby in the area of Old Riverside Road near Arundel Road.

"The victim and a suspect were in the same vehicle," Anne Arundel County Police Department spokesperson Marc Limansky told Patch in a July 1 email. "We cannot definitively say that the suspect was the shooter. The victim was pushed from the vehicle and found to have gunshot wound(s). There was no evidence of a crash. The vehicle was later recovered."
