'Boomtown' Redevelopment Project Up for Review

Gardner Center would feature a number of new retailers on a 5.25-acre spot along Annapolis Road in North Odenton.

A plan to redevelop a stretch along Annapolis Road in North Odenton will be up for review next week.

The Odenton Town Center Plan Oversight Committee on Tuesday will review plans for Gardner Center, a project that could feature two new buildings and several retailers.

Preliminary sketches of the plan indicate as many as six retailers could line the properties from 1566 to 1584 Annapolis Road, and there would be a second building behind them. Frank Smith, a representative of the developers, previously said a car wash could operate on the property.

The property spans about 5.25 acres and calls for about 21,800 square feet of space.

The town center committee will meet Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Western District Police Station, located at 8273 Telegraph Road.
