Anne Arundel County police said they will boost patrols in the Chapelgate area of Odenton after a man fired shots through the window of a home, resulting in cuts to a 19-month-old child.
Police said they responded to the incident at about 9:45 p.m. Monday at the 600 block of Cadbury Drive. Officers spoke with the homeowner, who said he was home with his family when an unknown man fired shots through the front window of the home. No one was struck by the shots, but the homeowner's 19-month-old daughter sustained some minor cuts when the window shattered.Â
Witnesses told police they saw a suspect flee the scene, possibly carrying "some kind of long weapon. He drove off in a red, burgundy or maroon car that may have been a Ford Crown Victoria.
Police searched the area but could not find the suspect. However, police said they do not believe the shooting incident was random in nature.Â
Police said they are continuing to investigate and will increase police presence in the area.Â
