Car Ruled out as 'Vehicle of Interest,' But Police Continue Search

Police continue to look for a maroon Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Marquis.

Anne Arundel County police said they have ruled out the involvement of a car previously labeled as a "vehicle of interest" in a shooting incident in Odenton Monday.

Police this week released the image of a maroon car and asked for the public's help in locating it. They said Friday that they no longer believe that specific car was connected to the case.

However, police said they still will look for a car with similar characteristics. They described the car as a Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Marquis, red or maroon in color, with tinted windows.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Heiencke from the Anne Arundel County Police Department's Western District at (410) 222-6155.
