Fire Tears Through Home in Piney Orchard
No injuries were reported in the two-alarm blaze on Found Artifact Drive.

Updated: (Monday, 8:49 a.m.) — Anne Arundel County firefighters responded Sunday to a blaze that tore through one home in Piney Orchard and damaged two others.Â
Firefighters responded at about 2:55 p.m. to the fire at the 7600 block of Found Artifact Drive, and quickly called for assistance from surrounding jurisdictions. Department spokesman Lt. Jack Beall said 48 firefighters were on the scene to battle the blaze, but there were no reports of injuries.
The fire heavily damaged one villa-style townhouse and also impacted two others. Three adults have been displaced as a result of the blaze, but none required assistance from the Red Cross.Â
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but Bell said it caused an estimated $300,000 to the homes and a vehicle in the driveway.Â
Beall said the main dwelling area of the main home was uninhabitable, and that investigators were working to assess the amount of damage to adjacent homes.Â
Piney Orchard Community Association President Jeff Andrade said there will be a fund established to assist any people displaced by the fire. Donations can be sent to POCA at 2400 Stream Valley Drive, Odenton, MD 21113.Â
