FOOTBALL: Old Mill Stifles Arundel 24-14

The Patriots kept the Wildcats' high-octane offense in check to move to 2-0 on the year.

In the annual rivalry game between Old Mill and Arundel, it was Old Mill's afternoon.

The Patriots held off the Wildcats to win 24-14, moving to 2-0 on the season.

Old Mill scored the first two touchdowns, then kept Arundel scoreless until the third quarter, when the Wildcats scored on a run by Diondre Wallace.

Arundel then cut the lead to 17-14 with about 2:30 left in the game on a rushing score by Larry Barnes, but Old Mill then recovered an onside kick and Donovan Franklin ran in for the score less than a minute later. A last-ditch rally by Arundel ended when Malik Hicks intercepted a pass on fourth and long.

Marcus Hicks and Devin Salisbury also scored for the Patriots, who face the Meade Mustangs next week.
