Fort Meade to Install Automated Entry, Warns of Delays in Meantime

The first delays could impact the Gates at Route 32 and Mapes Road.

Commutes into Fort Meade could take a bit longer over the next six weeks as workers will install equipment for an automated entry system.

Officials said the delays were expected this week and would stretch to October 18. Work will cause temporary lane closures for up to four hours a day. The first delays are likely to affect those entering at Route 32 and Mapes Road.
