Help Local Charities Through Arundel Cares

Non-profits could get $2,500 in grants by collecting the most online donations. Arundel Cares Week runs through September 12.

If you've been thinking about donating to a local non-profit group, this week may be a good time to do it. 

It's Arundel Cares has a week-long push to encourage local giving, with local charities eligible for $2,500 grants. 

There are 55 local charities accepting donations through Arundel Cares, including several in west Anne Arundel County. The Arundel Cares Week runs through September 12. 

Arundel Cares was founded by Joanna Conti, who a Democratic candidate for county executive. Last year, the campaign led to $32,160 in charitable contributions from 178 donors. 

Non-profits in the Odenton and Severn area eligible for donations through Arundel Cares include:

  • People's Community Health Centers
  • Opportunity Builders, Inc.
  • Sarah's House

The three charities with the most online donations will receive a $2,500 challenge grant.
