ODENTON, MD — A Jamaican restaurant born out of a food truck closed recently in Anne Arundel County, ending its roughly year-long run in a brick-and-mortar location.

Odenton's Jammin Flava was closed when Patch visited on Friday.

"After 11yrs effective immediately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we have decided to close our doors," a letter posted on the front door said. "Thank you so much for all your love, support and for being the best part of our story. Continue to support your local small business."

Jammin Flava started as a food truck in May 2015. It was frequently seen at the Odenton Volunteer Fire Company's food truck Thursdays. The business also catered.

The full restaurant opened in March 2024.

Inside, a Jamaican flag decorated each table. The green and yellow walls were also inspired by the flag. Decorative vines hung from the ceiling at 1109 Odenton Road.

The eatery offered everything from jerk chicken to curry goat. Oxtails and cajun fried fish were also available. Customers could enjoy their meal with sides of plantains or coco bread.

Jammin Flava was located between Pizza Hut and Rita's Italian Ice in The Collins Building, which was established in 1962. Before Jammin Flava, the space used to house The Brown Box Eatery.

It's unclear if Jammin Flava's food truck and catering are still operational.

Jammin Flava's owners have not responded to Patch's request for a comment. We will update this story if they reply.
