Local Principal Named Educator of the Month

Old Mill Middle School North Principal Sean McElhaney has been named Educator of the Month in for Anne Arundel County Public Schools for the month of September.  

McElhaney, who began his career as a 6th grade math teacher, was honored during Wednesday's school board meeting.

"You have climbed the educational ladder in Anne Arundel County Public Schools, and we are honored that you have remained in our school system during your entire career," board member Patricia Nalley said. "You have proven to be a believer in the truth that all students can learn and will respond positively when challenged to perform at a higher level."

Ridgeway Parent Named Volunteer of the Month

Annette Amos, a parent of a student at Ridgeway Elementary School, was named volunteer of the month for September. Amos was praised for filling numerous roles, including PTA secretary and volunteer coordinator at the school.
