Lunch With Santa, North Pole Walk: More Holiday Happenings Near Odenton

There's a tree lighting at Fort Meade, a lunch date with Santa and a holiday craft fair. Carve out some time for these local holiday events.

Still looking for some things to do for the holidays, but don't want to travel far? Check out these events in the Odenton area over the next few days. 

Tree Lighting at Fort Meade
When: Friday, 5 p.m.
Where: McGlachlin Field, Fort Meade
Details: The community is invited to enjoy the tree lighting event. The U.S. Army Field Band Brass Quartet will perform and there will be a visit from Santa Claus. Refreshments will be served. 

Holiday Lights Walk (half off special Friday)
When: Thursday-Saturday, 4:30 - 7 p.m. 
Where: Willow Oak Flower Farm, 8109 Telegraph Road, Severn
Details: Enjoy a walk through the North Pole! Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for children, but anyone who brings a canned good on Friday will get a 50 percent discount. Donations go to Sarah's House. 

Lunch With Santa at AVFD
When: Saturday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Arundel Volunteer Fire Department, 2380 Davidsonville Rd., Gambrills
Details: Cost is $5. Have some hot dogs and work on crafts. Santa will arrive by fire engine, and there will be a cookie decorating station. For reservations, call 410-721-1967

Arundel High Holiday Craft Fair
When: Saturday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Where: Arundel High
Details: Pick up some handcrafted items as you continue your holiday shopping.
