Man Found Lying In Roadway Near BWI Airport Seriously Injured: Police

MDTA Police detectives said they are investigating the circumstances leading up to the man's injuries in Anne Arundel County.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — The MDTA Police Criminal Investigations Unit and BWI Marshall Airport Detachment are trying to determine how a badly injured man ended up in the roadway over the weekend in Anne Arundel County.

Around 8:25 p.m., an MDTA police officer assigned to the BWI Marshall Airport Detachment was on patrol in the area of Aviation Boulevard at Allwood Drive in Anne Arundel County when she saw a man in the roadway, according to authorities.

After approaching him, authorities said the officer observed a Hispanic man in his forties with serious injuries. He was wearing a blue short-sleeved shirt, blue jeans, and black and red sneakers.

Authorities said the officer immediately provided medical assistance until she and other officers were relieved by members of the BWI Airport Fire & Rescue Department.

The man was transported to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, police said.

MDTA Police detectives aid they are investigating the circumstances leading to the man's injuries and the events prior to his discovery on Aviation Boulevard.

A preliminary investigation suggests the man’s injuries are not consistent with a motor vehicle crash, police said.
