Meade Football Falls in State Semifinal

Meade's Kyle Evans scored two touchdowns in the loss. It is the second year in a row the Mustangs fell in the state semifinal.

Meade High School fell short in its attempt to reach the Class 4A state title game Saturday, losing 46-25 to Suitland High.

Meade's Kyle Evans had 225 yards rushing and a pair of touchdowns, including an opening 70-yard scoring run. But it was not enough to overcome a five rushing touchdowns from Suitland, including three from Robert Wigfall.

Meade was playing in its second straight state semifinal, after clinching the east regional title on Nov. 22.

Suitland will play Northwest High in the state final at M&T Bank Stadium on Friday.
