Odenton Blanketed by Snow, Schools Closed

Libraries will open at 1 p.m., while senior activity centers will be closed.

The heaviest snowfall of the season came to the Odenton area overnight as the entire Northeast was impacted by a major winter storm.

Residents in Odenton saw as many as six inches of snow, forcing the closure of schools and a late opening for county government. Temperatures also dropped, with the mercury reading below 20 degrees.

The MARC Penn Line will operate as normal, but commuters could see some delays, and officials warned of possibly treacherous conditions in station parking lots.

Fort Meade remained open Friday, with the option for unscheduled leave and unscheduled telework.

County offices were scheduled to open at 10 a.m., with a liberal leave policy in effect.

All senior centers will be closed Friday, while most libraries will open at 1 p.m.
