Opportunity Builders Gets $2,500 Grant

A local non-profit that provides work and training for those with disabilities recently netted a $2,500 grant following a countywide fundraising campaign. 

Opportunity Builders Inc. (OBI) of Millersville raised more than $9,000 in total from a weeklong fundraising push held by Anne Arundel Cares. As one of the top fundraisers, OBI was the recipient of a $2,500 challenge grant. 

OBI officials said the organization raised about $1,400 more than in 2012 from the campaign. 

In all, the Anne Arundel Cares Week campaign netted $43,945 in donations to 22 charities. The Chesapeake Legal Alliance and Anne Arundel County Literacy Council also received $2,500 grants.
