Orioles Auction Nets $25K for Fort Meade

Proceeds from the sale of Orioles camouflage hats and jerseys will go toward the construction of a resiliency center on Fort Meade.

An auction of caps and jerseys worn by the Baltimore Orioles in June has netted nearly $25,000 for the Fort Meade Alliance.

The camouflage items were worn on June 14 to celebrate Flag Day at the Army's birthday, and signed by the players. They were then auctioned online.

The Orioles were expected to present a check for $24,615 to the Fort Meade Alliance before Tuesday night's game. The money will go toward the establishment of a resiliency center at Kuhn Hall on Fort Meade.
