Pedestrian Killed In Accident Identified As Severn Woman: Update
Anne Arundel County police have identified a Severn woman who was fatally struck by an SUV Tuesday night driven by a Glen Burnie man.

SEVERN, MD — A Severn woman has been identified as the pedestrian who was fatally struck by an SUV just before 7 p.m. Tuesday as she crossed Telegraph Road at Denson Drive in Severn, according to Anne Arundel County police.
Authorities said 75-year-old Darlene Platt of Severn was crossing in the eastbound direction from the median when she was hit by a 2022 Bronco. Police said the SUV was driven by a 45-year-old Glen Burnie man who was northbound on Telegraph Road.

The Bronco's driver told police he did not see the pedestrian until she was directly in front of the vehicle, and the vehicle struck Platt.
Responders with the Anne Arundel County Fire Department pronounced Platt dead at the scene, police said in a news release.

Officials did not release the name of the Bronco driver, who was not hurt.
