Police: Man Steals Cell Phones, Punches Worker

The incident happened Sunday at the Spring Mobile Rev store in Gambrills.

Anne Arundel County police said a man stole some cell phones, punched a store employee and struck a customer with his car on Sunday at cell phone store in Gambrills.

Police said they responded at 1:45 p.m. to the Spring Mobile Rev store at the Village at Waugh Chapel. Customers told police they saw a man trying to hide several cell phones, and that he was confronted by a store employee.

The suspect then punched the store employee and ran out of the store into a white station wagon.

Police said the car, possibly a Ford Taurus, may have been driven by another man. Customers chased after the suspects but the car drove off, striking one customer and causing superficial injuries.

Police said the car may have had a Washington, DC license plate reading "EE5763."
