The other Ross in Anne Arundel County is in Glen Burnie.
While many brick-and-mortar retailers struggle, Ross is continuing to expand. The chain plans to open about 80 Ross locations this year. The company also aspires to launch another 10 dd's DISCOUNTS in 2025. Ross and dd's are sister stores.
"We now operate a total of 2,205 Ross Dress for Less and dd's DISCOUNTS locations across 44 states, the District of Columbia, and Guam," Richard Lietz, executive vice president of property development, said in a March statement. "As we look out over the long term, we remain confident that Ross can grow to 2,900 locations and dd's DISCOUNTS can become a chain of 700 stores given consumers' ongoing focus on value and convenience."
Headquartered in California, Ross calls itself "the nation's largest off-price retail chain."
It believes in "'no frills'—no window displays, mannequins, fancy fixtures or decorations in our stores so we can pass more savings on to our customers."
Ross was founded in 1982. It reported net earnings of $2.1 billion on sales of $21.1 billion in fiscal year 2024.
Patch contacted Ross for a comment on its Gambrills location. The company has not yet responded. We will update this article if Ross replies.
