County Council Meeting
When: Monday, 7 p.m.
Where: 44 Calvert St., Annapolis
Details: The council will get an update from school officials on the achievement gap and will once again take up the issue of retiree health benefits.
School Board Discusses Budget
When: Wednesday, 10 a.m.
Where: 2644 Riva Rd., Annapolis
Details: The school board will get a first look at the superintendent's recommended operating and capital budget for fiscal year 2015.
West County Chamber Holiday Open House
When: Friday, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Where: West County Chamber, 8385 Piney Orchard Parkway
Details: Stop by for some free food and drink. Chamber members and non-members welcome.
Polar Express North Pole Lights Walk
When: Thursday-Saturday, 4:30 - 7 p.m.
Where: Willow Oak Flower Farm, 8109 Telegraph Road
Details: Take a walk through Santa's home and see the lighted gardens. Cost is $7 for adults, $5 for kids and there may even be a visit from Santa Claus.
Arundel Basketball vs. Southern
When: Thursday, 5 p.m.
Where: Arundel High
Details: The hoops teams look to rebound from their losses to South River last week as they continue the county season.
