Shed Resident Robbed, 1 Arrested, 3 Others Escape

Police said four men assaulted and robbed a man who lived in a shed in Odenton. A Severn man has been charged but three others escaped.

Anne Arundel County police said four men committed an armed robbery against a man residing in a shed in Odenton early Tuesday morning.

One man was arrested in the case, but three others remain at large.

The police department said officers were on patrol near the 1500 block of Annapolis Road at about 1:40 a.m. when they saw four men walk behind a building. The officers investigated and saw the men running from a shed where a 59-year-old man lives.

Police said they learned that the four men entered the shed and struck the man with an unknown object, then ran away with cash and phones. There was another 48-year-old man in the shed who was also robbed. At least one of the suspects had a handgun.

Both victims were hospitalized with minor injures.

Officers chased after the suspects and ordered them to stop, but they refused. Eventually, they found one suspect behind the Weis Market on Blue Water Boulevard.

Dwight David Gunter, 22, of Paddock Court in Severn, was charged with robbery and burglary.

Three other suspects could not be found after police searched the area with a K9 unit.
