VIDEO: Principal Takes Water Balloons in Anti-Bullying Event
Old Mill Middle School North holds a week-long anti-bullying campaign, culminating with students tossing water balloons at their school leader.
Old Mill Middle School North Principal Sean McElhaney was willing to do anything to promote the message that bullying is not OK.
So there he stood on Friday morning, donning a catcher's mask and taking water balloons to the face. McElhaney served as the symbolic "bully" and students sign up to "drench him with kindness."
Students paid $1 for four balloons and the right to pelt their principal. Money will go to support next year's anti-bullying campaign.

The water balloon fun was the last in a series of events designed to raise awareness of bullying and how to prevent it.
On Thursday, students and staff took part in the "Million T-Shirt March," with shirts sold to raise money for anti-bullying groups. Students also wore purple ribbons on Wednesday as a gesture of awareness.

"Middle school is probably the most traumatic time of kids' lives during their educational career," McElhaney said. "In middle school, they're dealing with peer pressure and all of that. We want to get the message out that there is no need for bullying and you need to be able to co-exist in the school."
