Thanksgiving will see one million Maryland drivers on the road. Here's a look at which routes to avoid this holiday.

OWINGS MILLS, MD — More than one million Maryland residents will be on the roads this Thanksgiving, according to AAA Mid-Atlantic. The Maryland travel forecast is a 3 percent increase and the highest travel volume in over 10 years, since 2005, the agency says.
You'll have to pack fast if you want to get out of town ahead of the worst time to travel: Google Maps says that will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday. If you MUST leave Wednesday, hit the road around 6 a.m. to avoid traffic delays.
The best time to head home? Friday morning at 6 a.m. The worst time to come home isn't Sunday, according to Google. It's actually Saturday at about 4 p.m.
