"Reisterstown has a rich past and thriving present," the association said in a statement about the mural. "This project aims to incorporate these elements into a postcard style mural that will be a staple for any visitors on our Main Street to stop and admire."

The mural is to be "creative and bold," officials say. One muralist or a team can apply for the project, which will pay $10,000 and include a community input phase.
